Stevie Nicks was married at one time! But it wasn't with one of her many boyfriends (Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Joe Walsh, Jimmy Iovine, Don Henley, among others), it was to Kim Anderson who was married to Stevie's long-time best friend, Robin Anderson.
What happened was that Robin got sick with leukemia and was also pregnant with her first child. Stevie helped take care of her and at about 5 months along in her pregnancy, Robin was rushed the the hospital- her end was very near (but she was determined to live so that she can have her baby)- the baby was delivered by c-section and of course was very premature. Robin died not long after (don't worry, the baby did survive, his name was Matthew) leaving behind her best friend Stevie and husband Kim. Now, it's not really unusual for a best friend and widower to turn to each other in grief- it does happen even if it's wrong- but they both lost someone that they really love and baby Matthew didn't have a mother so Stevie did something that made sense at the time but in reality it was a mistake: she married Kim. I'm sure her heart was in the right place as was his. Grief does make you do crazy out-of-the-ordinary things. Needless to say the marriage didn't last long- I think it was less than a year. From what I know of now, Stevie rarely mentions her brief marriage, if she does, then it's once in a blue moon. Plus she doesn't keep in touch with Kim or Matthew but she does have Robin's things and has said that if Matthew ever wanted his mother's belongings and know about her from someone who knew her best, Stevie's door is always open.
The brief marriage did have a lasting effect though: during their honeymoon, Stevie and Kim heard Prince's Little Red Corvette on the radio- they loved it so much that they pulled over on the side of the road to dance. Then Stevie heard this little tune in her head and wrote the hit and classic song "Stand Back". That song is one of my favorites!
